As the Shattuck St. Mary’s 2025-26 school year comes to a close, a majority of the school’s seniors are spending their last moments together. Some will head to college, some will go abroad, and some will go play junior hockey. No matter their upcoming path, all of SSM is behind them and supports them with all they do. Kylie Amelkovich ‘26 said, “This place is so special to all of us, but I’m excited for my next steps and can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
Seniors say they will miss being around their friends all the time, the late night dorm talks, playing spikeball on parade, and working endlessly to pursue their goals and dreams in their sport or otherwise. It is safe to say that all of the seniors will miss the little moments. Gavin Weber ‘26 said, “I will definitely miss working hard with the guys everyday and miss just being around them. The memories we created of just the little things will be with me forever and I’m so grateful for them.”
In the upcoming week of May 17, grades will be finalized and exams will be completed, however, there is so much more to do. These graduating seniors will participate in multiple events. On Thursday, May 21, seniors will participate in their baccalaureate and senior dinner with their families. Those involved in the SSM Hockey Signature Program also will attend a Senior Recognition Ceremony at the Putrah Sports Complex and ice rink facilities.
On Friday, May 22 is wrapped up with Commencement where they will receive their diplomas and spend their last few moments together. Marc-Alan Araujo ‘26 said, “It is bittersweet for sure, but I can’t wait to spend my last few moments on campus with my best friends.”
