SSM Hockey is well known across the hockey community for its elite development, elite coaches and players and its 36 USA Hockey National Championships. However, one aspect of SSM Hockey that most do not see is the tight bonded community from player to player and with staff.

Part of the bond comes from going through the same experiences and working hard together. Goaltender Calum Keating ‘25 said, “I feel like we all go through the same struggles together. Like those long weekends where we play five games in three days, long bus trips too, we just get to know each other so well, and we all know what it means to work hard. I feel like that’s how we bond.”
SSM Hockey provides a great experience to create friendships and bonds that last a lifetime. Another thing that allows SSM players to come together is the common goal each team has each season. Each team has the goal to win a National Championship at the end of the year. The other goal the whole program has is to become the best people possible. Goaltender Garrett Glaser ‘26 spoke to these goals, “Being a part of SSM Hockey for my third year now, I’ve had my fair share of experience being on teams. Every team I have been on had the same end of year goal which is to hang a national championship banner at the end of the year. Throughout the season, our coaches push everyone to be the best person, teammate, and student they can possibly be.”
SSM Hockey is built upon a tight knit community that instills hard work, benevolence, and drive to become the best. Be sure to catch the upcoming games for the U14, U15, U16, and Prep teams play the Chicago Mission this weekend and the U18 team play the Omaha Mastery.
